The Impossible Book was born from a personal exploration of absence, fabricated content, fictional authors, imagined libraries, and invented books. One question emerged: what makes a book and more precisely, what makes us believe in a book’s legitimacy?

If an art book typically relies on rigorous editorial grids, image credits, footnotes, and references, are these elements enough to construct a sense of credibility?

The project brings together real and fictional references, found and produced images, as well as texts drawn from existing publications or generated with the help of ChatGPT. The overall layout creates an illusion of authenticity, while a certain fragmentation simultaneously reflects the project’s blurred zones, at the boundary between documentation and invention.
